Engagement Story

(Mark)
The plans for the engagement happened many months before, I had come to the realization that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Marielle. I wanted to tell her this in a very special way. So I knew Marielle absolutely loved Disney, she also enjoyed romantic surprises, so it was evident to me what I had to do! But how to pull it off? Well while setting plans in motion, buying tickets to Florida, buying the engagement ring and researching the logistics of getting the most out of a week long Disney World Trip. I couldn’t have pulled it off without the help of family and friends. And luckily enough Marielle’s birthday was coming around the corner so the perfect cover story was hatched. So with Marielle’s father’s permissioned asked, the ring carefully hidden and all the information on the trip for “her birthday surprise” in a blue folder in my hand I stepped out of work early the day before the flight and came home early.

I recall the day I was at home, talking to Mark online and being in the middle of doing things around the apartment when suddenly I heard the sound of the door being unlocked. I watched the entrance with bated breath, imagining that either the landlord or the superintendent had gotten extremely brazen. Leo was prepared, ready for the command to attack if needed! (Not really)

I was so shocked to see Mark. When he explained to me that we were taking a trip to Disney for my birthday, I was over the moon! It all happened so fast. After packing I think the quickest I ever had in my life, we were taking a cab to the airport, jetting off to Orlando, and then in a mad rush to get to the park. If you go places with us, you know we take it VERY seriously (be prepared to walk around, do things, and sight see until you can no longer stand any of it).

We had just made it past the entrance of Magic Kingdom and I was already plotting what rides to go on as we approached Cinderella Castle.

Mark suggested stopping to take a few pictures so I stood infront of the wishing well. After taking the pictures and throwing a coin to make a wish, my brain was already set on the next thing... (watch the video to see what happened next!)
